The Palookas
There are at least two bands called The Palookas. The original was formed in early 80s London and released records between '85 and '91. They were Jowe Head (vocals), Paul Holt (guitar), James Robotham (bass), Trudie Holt (keyboards) and Ritchie Praline (drums).
A new band named The Palookas was formed in 2001 and played lots of shows in- and outside the Netherlands since then. They played twice at the Dutch Ska Festival (number one ska festival in The Netherlands) and shared the stage with lots of bands like The Toasters, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Mad Caddies, Mark Foggo’s Skasters and The Selecter.
They’ve recorded their third CD (Live!) on January 19th, 2007. The first two CD’s were received very well by the Dutch audience and press and got them lots of shows!
Nowadays The Palookas are a well organised, dedicated and experienced band! They are ready to make Europe dance! Besides the many gigs in The Netherlands, The Palookas will be touring through Europe and have several short trips to Belgium and Germany!
